Meet Jason
A teacher who writes. A storyteller who listens.
Jason Soule is an educator, author, storyteller, and proud papa based in Redding, California. Years spent in classrooms have taught him something important: children do not need adults to make the world smaller for them. They need adults who respect their intelligence, understand their humor, and invite their questions.
That is the heart of Wonderfilled Books. Jason creates stories that speak the language of kids—curious, funny, direct, a little mysterious, and always ready to turn an everyday moment into an adventure.
He believes children can tell when a story is talking down to them. So he writes the other way: with them, toward them, and with enough room for their own imaginations to join in.

Children experience the world at full volume. A jellyfish is not just an animal—it is an alien. A dark opening in the woods is not just an old structure—it is an invitation. A sofa is not just furniture—it might be hiding a secret.
Jason’s classroom experience helps him meet kids where they are without pretending to be one of them. He understands their rhythms, their jokes, their skepticism, and the moment curiosity takes over.

The outdoors keeps the imagination awake.
Redding sits close to wild country—river trails, oak woodlands, volcanic landscapes, mountain lakes, and forests where every bend seems capable of hiding a story. Jason feels most at home outside, following a trail, noticing what others might walk past, or exploring with family and a very enthusiastic dog.
Those landscapes shape the atmosphere of Wonderfilled stories. Nature teaches patience, attention, courage, and the thrill of not knowing exactly what waits around the corner.
Sometimes inspiration looks like a wide-open view. Sometimes it looks like a moss-covered tunnel in the brush and the irresistible question: where does that go?
Because the world deserves great stories.
Not louder stories. Not stories built from a formula. Stories with heart, humor, mystery, and enough respect for young readers to let them participate in the meaning.
